  15. general who was Oliver North's chief intermediary in selling
  16. weapons to Iran and diverting the profits to the contras; on
  17. nine counts of lying to and obstructing congressional
  18. investigating committees; in Washington. Each charge upon
  19. conviction carries a maximum sentence of five years'
  20. imprisonment and $250,000 in fines. Secord was convicted in a
  21. Virginia court of drunk driving. He was given a suspended 30-day
  22. jail sentence and ordered to pay a $200 fine.
